Covid 2020

Every year since time immemorial, a team of villagers has erected a large tree in front of the magnificent 17th Century wrought-iron “Eagle” gates.  However in December 2020, one measure to reduce the spread of infection was to impose “Social Distancing”, basically requiring people to keep at least two metres apart which made such close exertion impossible. Instead, the lights were attached to the gates themselves and many felt the result to be well in keeping with the tradition. For Christmas 2021, no sizeable tree was available so the same was done- this time the gilded falcon garlanded with lights.
