Madonna and Child - the story behind a picture

Christopher Hall painted this picture of a Madonna and Child, while he lived in Aldermaston.  Signed and dated 11th July 1955, this picture was one of a pair Christopher painted on the same subject and was destined for Recanati in Italy, as a present for the mother of Maria, his future wife. As far as his family knows, the painting is still there in Italy.
